Look inside Book 1
A taste of Finish What You Start
This isn't a character flaw unique to you. It's simply how the two experiences are built. Starting rewards you immediately. Finishing rewards you eventually. Anything that pays off eventually is naturally harder to stick with than something that pays off right now.
Think about the last time you began something new — a habit, a project, a plan. Notice how much of the excitement was tied to the idea of the thing rather than the thing itself. You were probably imagining the outcome: how it would feel, what it would prove, what would be different afterward. That imagined future is genuinely enjoyable to think about. It's also, by definition, not real yet. The actual work — the part that turns imagination into reality — is a separate task, and it's the one that gets skipped when people mistake the pleasure of imagining a result for progress toward it.

Three key ideas from Book 1
- Starting creates possibility, finishing creates results
Nobody is paid or respected for a project that is 60 percent done.
- The middle is where projects die
Excitement fades and progress becomes invisible. Book 1 has a whole chapter on getting through it.
- Finishing is a skill
With a simple system, completion becomes something you can repeat.
Framework from the series
